| Africa Africa
is developing at a very disappointing rate at the present
time. The continent has the potential to accelerate
this given its human and material resources. Democracy
that is taking root now should make this happen soon
enough.
Hopefully, the governments of the various countries
of Africa will make the necessary tough choices politically
and economically to make things happen. Then, unemployment,
diseases, poor infrastructure, unattractive business
environment would start to be viewed in the rear view
mirror.
All of the present short comings are factors that make
the continent the place to attract investment. Africa
now needs mass employment; mass production; mass income;
mass consumption quite urgently now so the world is
spared the almost daily TV catalogue of poverty and
want.
PGC thinks that Africa could benefit from the following:
- Surplus production equipment and machinery in the
1st world
- Pre-owned machinery and equipment that abound as
a of result down-turns
- Surpluses of raw materials\assembly parts in unsold
stocks
- Favorable dollar exchange rate regime of this tim
- Grants, aid, soft loans, leases from 1st world
to the 3rd world
All of these and more should enable Africa to acquire
necessary capital equipment needed to jump start economies
all over the continent.
This is an important period that Africans should seize
and any feet dragging in whatever guise must be resisted.
PGC would be eager and ready to assist governments,
corporations, and individuals to package productive
investments for Africa NOW.
We would love to put in place programs in a Free Enterprise
setting the means that ensures 3 decent meals for every
African.
Middle East
This is a region awash in petrodollars but whose society
is greatly culturally influenced by religious and other
cultural biases.
These factors help to swell and replenish the ranks
of fundamentalists.
Large unemployment as well as the Palestinian question
makes matters a lot worse economically.
PGC is of the opinion that growing the economies of
the region reduces frustrations and associated anger
of the peoples of the region.
When unemployment is eliminated, people are focused
on their lives and they have no time and need to belong
to underground terrorist movement[s].
When the people are engaged productively there are
no “Idle hands” for the devils use.
In Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Afghanistan, and other parts
of the Mid East, there are many local entrepreneurs
who are crying to be assisted to develop their businesses,
and who are potential employers in each of these countries.
Most of the insurgents, terrorists, and suspicious crowd
here would reduce considerably if they had gainful well
paying jobs or personal businesses. Governments of these
countries as well as the western world should change
tactics by emphasizing business growth and economic
development. PGC thinks that this method is cheaper
and easier to administer than the application of the
force of arms to suppress the people.
PGC can produce a ‘Hands-on’ program of
renewal, economic empowerment, and restitution for the
good and benefit of all. |
